This above picture depicts the episode showing Lord Rama's strength is from the chapter relating to Rama's encounter with the monkey king Sugriva (when Rama was in his forest exile after Sita was kidnapped).

Hanuman who met Rama in exile introduced Rama to Sugriva and tells that Rama could help him to kill Evil Vali and become a king. Sugriva promised Rama that if he made him the king, he would help Rama to find Rama's wife Sita who was kidnapped by Ravana.

But he wanted a demo of Rama's strength to determine if he could win Vali, Sugriva's elder brother and rival for the Kishkindha throne. Rama was required to shoot an arrow through a single Sala tree, (Vali had achieved the same feat earlier). But Rama's power was so great that he shot through seven trees with one arrow; the arrow also killed a snake and then returned to his bow. (symbolic of Rama's power to take his devotees beyond the seven heavens to the liberated world Vaikuntha by killing the snake of sansaar (worldly entanglement).

Later Rama kills Sugriva's brother Vali with a single arrow and makes Sugriva the King of Kishkhinda as promised. Whoever Rama supported could become a king. Similarly, Rama supported Vibhishana and made him king of Lanka after killing Ravana.

Rama always tried to find the good even the bad. So he asked Lakshmana to get advice from Ravana on how to rule.

Actually, according to puranas, 6 personalities, (Lord Vishnu, His wife Laxmi, Lord Brahma-the creator and his wife Saraswati, and lastly

Mukhya Prana -known as Vayu dev-the original form of Hanuman- are the perfectly beautiful bodied possessing 32 aspects of perfect beauty and were perfect in all ways and the are the strongest of all.

Once Hanuman claims that he could break the universe (brhamanda) into two parts and play cymbals with them. Then Rama agreed that Hanuman could indeed do it. When the greatest devotee/deputee of God himself was so strong, then how great might be Lord Rama who was the source of Hanuman’s strength?

Rama, Laxman, Bharat and Shatrughna, the four brothers along with the mighty monkey Hanuman were born of the same Solid payasam blessed by Agnideva, the Lord of Fire when Putrakameshthi sacrifice was performed by King Dasharatha to obtain offsprings. One piece of the solid payasam was stolen by a Gandharva lady disguised as an eagle and a whirlwind made the piece of payasam slip off the grip of the eagle and it fell into the hands of Anjana Devi (the would be mother of Hanuman) who was meditating to obtain a great son.

So, all the above five were brothers in a sense and were very strong physically. But Rama was Lord God Vishnu himself incarnated as a human. Thus, His spiritual strength knew no bounds.

Lord Rama not only lifted Shiv Dhanush (a big strong bow blessed by Lord Shiva) which others including the mighty Ravana failed to lift, but also broke it up in the requirement to win Sita in the contest arranged by Sita's father king Janaka.

Rama was so strong that nothing could disturb his peace. He was as grave as an Ocean- samudreva gamhbirye, and as brave as the great unshakeable Himalayas - Dhairyena Himalayan.

The Great Rama's arrow would never (baan in Sanskrit) never miss its aim. So, a Ram baan means a never failing solution to any problem.

Even the writing of Rama’s name on stones during the construction of Rama Setu, the bridge from India to Lanka, made the stones float symbolically hinting that anyone who chanted Rama's name would float easily in this Ocean of worldly Life.

He was so strong in administration that, all the people including Ladies were happy. So, Ram raajya meaning Rama's rule was the great ideal time in the history of mankind, as every citizen was known to possess a multistoried building with fountains in his gardens.

The secret of Rama's strength lie in his personality who had great qualities. His exceptional qualities were as below:

1) गुणवान् (guṇavān = principled person)

2) वीर्यवान् (vīryavān = potential one)

3) धर्मज्ञः (dharmajñaḥ = conscientious)

4) कृतज्ञः (kṛtajñaḥ = grateful)

5) सत्य वाक्यो (satya vākyo = truth-teller)

6) धृढ व्रतः (dhṛḍha vrataḥ = self-determined in his deed)

7) चारित्रेण च को युक्तः (cāritreṇa ca ko yuktaḥ = blended with men/women of good-conduct)

8) सर्व भूतेषु को हितः (sarva bhūteṣu ko hitaḥ = kind in respect of all beings)

9) विद्वान् (vidvān = adept, knowledgeable, skilled)

10) समर्थः (samarthaḥ = ablest)

11) एक प्रिय दर्शनः (eka priya darśanaḥ = uniquely good-looking)

12) आत्मवान् (ātmavān = courageous, fully confident)

13) जित क्रोधो (jita krodho = one who has controlled his anger)

14) द्युतिमान् (dyutimān = brilliant one)

15) अनसूयकः (anasūyakaḥ = not jealous)

16) बिभ्यति देवाः च जात रोषस्य संयुगे.

(kasya bibhyati devāḥ ca jāta roṣasya saṃyuge = even whom do the gods fear, when provoked to war)

He always spoke the truth, never lied.

He spoke little and spoke only when required.

He was known as parengitadnyaha - which means he understood the import of everyone's presentation immediately; and so dealt properly

with it keeping everyone's good in his heart.

Rama not only kept his words always but also supported others to do so. (he kept the promise given by his father to Kaikeyi -the third wife of Dasharatha)

He always spoke to others first when he met them (prathama bhashi)

He spent his time in the company of wise, knowledgeable and good men.

He never got angry and never used bad/abusive words

He followed one-wife only policy- monogamy

He forgave others’ mistakes and remembered even their little good deeds

He was humble always and never thought about his greatness

He was always smiling and in good mood

He never gambled

He was always just as he knew that JUSTICE and KINDNESS are the mainstay of any administration (There is an incident which depicts Rama as meting out justice even to a Dog. Animals supposedly could communicate with humans in those days!)
