AFFF Foam Concentrate in Riyadh: Reliable Hydrocarbon Fire Protection

www.rakmefire.com

AFFF Foam Concentrate in Riyadh is used in suitable foam-based fire protection systems applicable to hydrocarbon and flammable-liquid fire hazards. RAKME Fire Fighting offers BLITS AFFF, an aqueous film-forming foam concentrate containing fluorinated and synthetic surfactants, solvents, preservatives and stabilizers. According to RAKME, the concentrate produces a thin film over hydrocarbon fuel surfaces, with the foam blanket to exclude oxygen and provide a cooling effect for rapid flame knockdown and extinguishment.

BLITS AFFF is listed for suitable Class B hydrocarbon fires, including fires involving crude oil, gasoline, diesel and kerosene. It can be considered for fire protection applications where suitable foam proportioning and discharge equipment is available.

What Is AFFF Foam Concentrate?

AFFF stands for Aqueous Film Forming Foam. It is a specialized firefighting concentrate which is generally mixed with water through an appropriate proportioning system to produce firefighting foam. The resulting foam spreads across a suitable fuel surface and creates a protective blanket.

For hydrocarbon fire protection, the foam helps to separate the fuel surface from oxygen while providing a cooling effect. RAKME states that the fluorinated surfactants in BLITS AFFF provide positive spreading over the fuel surface, helping the foam to spread rapidly across the affected area.

The appropriate foam concentration, equipment, application method and system design should be selected according to the specific fire hazard, applicable requirements and manufacturer recommendations.

Why Choose AFFF Foam Concentrate?

AFFF foam concentrate can be an important component of suitable fire protection systems for facilities which handle, process or store combustible and flammable liquids.

AFFF Foam Concentrate in Riyadh can be considered for industrial facilities where hydrocarbon fire hazards require compatible foam-based suppression systems. BLITS AFFF can be used with various compatible foam proportioning and discharge devices, including portable and fixed in-line proportioners, branchpipes, monitors, foam makers, foam chambers, foam pourers, rim-seal foam pourers, sprinklers and spray/fog nozzles.

RAKME also states that BLITS AFFF is compatible with dry powders and other equivalent foams. Compatibility should be confirmed for the specific system before use.

Key Benefits

1. Hydrocarbon Fire Protection

BLITS AFFF is suitable for specified Class B hydrocarbon fire applications, including crude oil, gasoline, diesel and kerosene. This makes it relevant to facilities which are involved in fuel storage, processing, transportation and industrial operations.

2. Protective Film Formation

AFFF produces a thin film over suitable hydrocarbon fuel surfaces. Along with the foam blanket, this helps to reduce the interaction between the fuel surface and oxygen.

3. Cooling Effect

The foam blanket provides a cooling effect during firefighting. According to RAKME, the combination of film formation, oxygen exclusion and cooling contributes to flame knockdown and extinguishment.

4. Rapid Foam Spreading

The product is formulated to provide positive spreading characteristics over suitable hydrocarbon fuel surfaces. This allows the foam to spread across the affected area as part of an appropriately designed suppression system.

5. Multiple Equipment Compatibility

BLITS AFFF can be used with different compatible foam proportioning and discharge systems, including monitors, branchpipes, foam makers, foam chambers, foam pourers, sprinklers and proportioning equipment.

6. Long Shelf Life

RAKME states that BLITS AFFF has a 10-year shelf life when stored in sealed original containers under suitable conditions. The recommended storage temperature is 0°C to 50°C, and containers should be protected from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

7. Versatile Applications

AFFF can be considered for a variety of industrial environments where suitable hydrocarbon fire protection is required, including oil and gas facilities, refineries, fuel storage areas, power stations, process areas and offshore and onshore installations.

Industrial Applications in Riyadh

AFFF Foam Concentrate can be considered for suitable fire protection systems in a wide range of industries and facilities, including:

Oil & gas facilities

Refineries

Fuel storage terminals

Tank farms

Chemical processing plants

Power stations

Process industries

Offshore and onshore installations

Firefighting vehicles

Fixed fire suppression systems

Aviation and airport facilities

Marine and industrial facilities

The suitability of AFFF depends on the specific fuel, fire hazard, system design, proportioning method, discharge equipment and applicable fire safety requirements.

Proportioning and Discharge Equipment

Proper proportioning is an important part of an effective foam fire protection system. BLITS AFFF can be used with suitable portable and fixed in-line proportioners, balance-pressure variable-flow proportioners, bladder tanks, ratio controllers and around-the-pump proportioners.

For discharge, RAKME lists compatible equipment such as spray/fog nozzles, monitors, foam makers, foam chambers, foam pourers, rim-seal foam pourers, branchpipes and sprinklers.

Before installation or operation, the compatibility of the foam concentrate with the existing firefighting system should be verified.

Storage and Shelf Life

Proper storage is important for maintaining the performance characteristics of foam concentrate. RAKME recommends storing BLITS AFFF in its sealed original containers at temperatures between 0°C and 50°C.

Containers should not be exposed directly to sunlight or excessive heat. RAKME states that the product can withstand intermittent short-term exposure up to 55°C and is unaffected by freeze/thaw cycles.

For handling, spill management, environmental information and additional safety requirements, users should refer to the manufacturer's MSDS and applicable local regulations.
