Angela Prior, LCSW-S, E-RYT, CIEC, and founder of AP and Co Collective, continues to bring an embodied, trauma-informed perspective to mental health care and professional education in Texas. Her work connects clinical knowledge with practical mind-body approaches, helping both clients and mental health professionals explore therapeutic methods that go beyond conversation alone.

With more than 15 years of clinical experience, Prior focuses on the intersection of trauma, anxiety, eating disorder recovery, chronic health conditions, and somatic therapy. Her approach recognizes something many therapists encounter in practice: a client may understand intellectually what happened to them while still feeling that their body is responding as though the experience is happening in the present.

EMDR Training TexasFor clinicians looking to expand their skills, is part of a broader conversation around trauma-informed professional development. EMDR is commonly used within trauma-focused care, while practitioners may also explore complementary approaches depending on their training, clinical setting, and client needs.

Experiential Therapy CertificationPrior also emphasizes experiential learning for professionals. Her and educational work reflect her belief that clinicians often learn therapeutic techniques more effectively when they have an opportunity to practice and experience them, rather than simply reading about them. Her professional training programs incorporate concepts such as nervous system regulation, interoception, breathwork, mindful movement, clinical ethics, and trauma-informed care.

Brain Spotting TherapyAnother area receiving increased attention is , a brain-body approach developed by Dr. David Grand. Angela Prior is Brainspotting Phase II trained and incorporates Brainspotting into her clinical work. The method uses visual focus and awareness of bodily sensations to help clients explore emotional and physiological responses that may be difficult to access through words alone.

EMDR for depression and anxietyThis mind-body perspective can also be relevant when discussing . Depression and anxiety can involve more than persistent thoughts or emotions. People may experience physical tension, heightened alertness, shutdown, avoidance, or a sense of being stuck. Trauma-informed therapies can provide clinicians with additional frameworks for understanding these interconnected experiences, while treatment decisions should always be individualized to the client.

At AP and Co Collective, this philosophy extends into a collaborative care environment bringing together therapists and mind-body practitioners with different areas of expertise. The collective offers in-person services in East Dallas as well as telehealth options across Texas.

For professionals interested in expanding their trauma-informed toolkit, or individuals seeking a deeper mind-body approach to therapy, Angela Prior and the AP and Co Collective provide opportunities to explore clinical care, experiential education, and somatic practices in an integrated setting.
