Neem Karoli Baba, one of the great saints of the 20th century, is very popular due to his divine powers. He was a devotee of Bajrangbali. According to beliefs, people used to see Neem Karoli Baba as Lord Hanuman in Kalyug. People used to consider him as an incarnation of Lord Hanuman. Neem Karoli Baba's childhood name was Laxman Narayan Sharma. After becoming a saint, he was known by names like Laxman Das, Neem Karoli Baba, Tikonia Wale Baba and Talaiya Baba. Although no one knows the date of his birth, he left his body on 11 September 1973 in Vrindavan.

Neeb Karori Baba Biography

The real name of Neeb Karori Baba was Laxminarayan Sharma. He was born in a wealthy Brahmin family in Akbarpur, Uttar Pradesh in the year 1900, and died on 10 September 1973.

His father's name was Durga Prasad Sharma and mother's name was Lakshmi. He was married to "Tularam Shah" at the age of 11. After some time of marriage, his mind started going towards renunciation and at the age of 11, he left home. At the age of 17, Baba Ji attained spiritual knowledge.

Once the father came to know that his son was seen in Farrukhabad, he requested him to return home. On his request, the son decided to return home again, and he took care of his household.

After some years, Baba Neeb Karori had 2 sons and 1 daughter, but he always wanted to become a sadhu. In the year 1958, he left home again to become a sadhu.

He travelled all over India and by worshipping Hanuman ji, he attained many siddhis (powers) with which he used to remove the sufferings of all the devotees. He told people the importance of devotion to Hanuman ji and Hanuman Chalisa . Due to all these reasons, he became very famous.

He built 108 Hanuman temples at various places during his lifetime. Neeb Karori Baba was famous by different names such as "Handi Wale Baba", "Tikonia Baba", "Laxman Das".

Baba Neeb Karori attained Samadhi in Nainital on 10 September 1973. Today people know this place by the name Kainchi Dham. All the devotees who come to this Dham return from here happily, and devotees never return empty handed.

Why was he named Neeb Karori Baba?

Once Neeb Karori Baba was travelling by train, when a train official came to check the tickets, but Baba did not have a ticket. Due to not having a ticket, the official made him get off the train.

After getting down from the train, Baba sat down in meditation at one place, and the train was not even moving to go to the next station.

Seeing this the officials realised their mistake and apologised to Baba Neeb Karori and he was seated back in the train with respect and then the train started to move.

The place where Baba was disembarked from the train was named Neeb Karori. That is why he came to be known as Neeb Karori Baba.

Miracles of Neeb Karori Baba

1st Miracle

Once upon a time, Baba Neeb Karori was having a feast for his devotees. Suddenly there was a shortage of ghee for the feast. Knowing this, Baba Neeb Karori called a disciple and asked him to go to the river bank and bring 2 canisters of water. The disciple followed the order and brought water from the river.

Baba Neeb Karori performed a wonderful miracle by touching that water and turned the water into ghee. Seeing this wonderful incident, the devotees were astonished and their faith in Baba Neeb Karori's infinite compassion and power increased even more.

On the second day, when ghee was needed for the bhandaar, that ghee was poured into the river, it is believed that the ghee was returned to Ganga Maiya. This wonderful incident created a unique experience of the greatness of Baba Neeb Karori in the minds of the devotees.

2nd Miracle

Once, Neeb Karori Baba arrived at the house of an old couple who lived in Fatehgarh. He went to their house suddenly and said that he would stay there today. The old couple became happy on hearing this.

But he was sad that he did not have anything to serve Baba. He served Baba with whatever he had in the house. Baba ate and drank and fell asleep under a blanket.

As soon as Baba slept, he started groaning. It seemed as if someone was beating him. Seeing this, the old couple could not sleep and started thinking what had happened to Baba Ji. As soon as it was morning, Baba Ji wrapped the blanket and gave it to the couple and said, flow it in the river Ganga, do not open it and see, otherwise you will get into trouble and your son will return home safely in a month. The old couple followed Baba Ji's orders, but while taking the blanket, they felt that there was some iron object in the blanket. But they did not pay attention to this and they took the blanket and flowed it in the river Ganga.

After a month, the son of the old couple returned who was a soldier in the British army. During the Second World War, he was posted on the Burma front and he was surrounded by the enemy army a month ago. And all his companions were killed but he survived. He was not hit by a single bullet in the firing. There was firing throughout the night but he escaped from the enemies.

When more British soldiers arrived in the morning, he felt relieved. That very night Baba Neeb Karori stayed overnight at the house of an old couple.

3rd Miracle

Once a foreign female follower went to Neeb Karori Baba with her husband. The woman's husband had no faith in religion or Baba. But on his wife's insistence, he went with her to see Baba Neeb Karori.

He went there and seeing the ashram and Babaji, he thought, my wife is crazy about this ordinary looking person and he got up from there and went away.

At night he stood on the bank of a river and started thinking about his future and his wife. The next day when he had to return to his country, he went to see Baba Neeb Karori again on the insistence of his wife.

Then Baba Ji called that person and asked, what were you thinking while standing on the bank of the river at night? And what are you thinking when you come here? Do you want to know all these things?

Hearing this the person was astonished and when he told the whole thing to Baba Ji, he had complete faith in Baba Ji.

Instead of feeling tired, they would feel a renewed sense of energy.
