What Is the Exeter Motorhome Show 2026?

The Exeter Motorhome Show 2026 is a leisure vehicle event scheduled for 20–22 November 2026 at Westpoint Exeter in Devon. It provides an opportunity for motorhome enthusiasts and prospective buyers to explore available vehicles, compare interior layouts and learn about features that can make touring around the UK more comfortable.

For anyone researching premium motorhomes or looking for the best motorhome for couples, comparing different vehicle types before making a decision is an important first step. The right motorhome should balance comfort, practicality, driving requirements and overall cost.

Visitors should check the official Westpoint Exeter event page before travelling for the latest event details.

What Should You Look for When Choosing a Motorhome?

Choosing a motorhome depends on the number of travellers, the length of your holidays and the facilities you need. A vehicle that works well for weekend breaks may not provide enough space for an extended touring holiday.

The most important factors to consider are:

Sleeping arrangements: Check the number of berths, bed dimensions and whether beds need to be converted each evening.
Living space: Consider the lounge, dining area and room to move around comfortably.
Kitchen facilities: Compare cooking equipment, refrigerator capacity and food preparation space.
Bathroom facilities: Decide whether you need a separate shower and toilet or prefer a compact washroom.
Storage: Look for sufficient room for clothing, luggage and outdoor equipment.
Driving requirements: Check vehicle dimensions, weight, licence requirements and parking suitability.

Comparing these features helps travellers choose a motorhome that matches their intended use rather than paying for facilities they may rarely need.

What Is the Best Motorhome for Couples?

The best motorhome for couples is one that offers comfortable sleeping arrangements, practical living facilities and manageable driving characteristics. A compact two-berth motorhome can be ideal for shorter holidays, while a larger model may suit couples planning extended trips.

Compact Motorhomes for Flexible Touring

Compact motorhomes are often easier to manoeuvre and may be more convenient on narrow rural roads or when parking in smaller spaces. They can provide essential facilities without taking up as much space as a larger vehicle.

However, compact layouts may have limited storage, smaller kitchens or convertible beds. Couples should check whether the available space suits their travel habits.

Premium Motorhomes for Extra Comfort

Premium motorhomes may offer larger living areas, upgraded interiors, more extensive kitchen facilities and additional storage. Depending on the model, they may also include enhanced heating systems, modern entertainment equipment and driver-assistance features.

These vehicles can be particularly attractive to couples who spend several weeks touring or prefer more space during poor weather.

Premium Motorhomes vs Compact Motorhomes

FeatureCompact motorhomePremium motorhome
Living space	Space-efficient layout	Often more spacious
Manoeuvrability	May be easier to handle	Depends on vehicle size
Sleeping arrangements	Compact or convertible beds	May offer a fixed bed
Kitchen facilities	Essential equipment	Potentially more extensive
Storage	Usually more limited	May provide additional capacity
Typical consideration	Practicality and flexibility	Comfort and additional features

Neither type is automatically the better choice. Travellers should compare the specifications of individual vehicles, their total costs and the destinations they intend to visit.

Are Premium Motorhomes Worth the Extra Cost?

Premium motorhomes can be worth considering when additional comfort and equipment will meaningfully improve your holidays. Features such as a fixed bed, larger refrigerator, improved storage and effective heating may be useful during longer trips.

However, a higher price does not guarantee that a vehicle will suit every traveller. A couple taking occasional weekend breaks may find a smaller motorhome more practical and economical.

When comparing options, consider the purchase price or rental charge alongside fuel, insurance, servicing, campsite fees and other expenses. For hired vehicles, check mileage limits, insurance excesses, deposits and included equipment before booking.

Is Hiring a Motorhome Better Than Buying One?

Motorhome hire is often a practical option for occasional travellers, while purchasing may suit people who tour frequently and want regular access to their own vehicle.

Hiring allows travellers to experience different layouts without taking responsibility for long-term ownership costs such as storage, depreciation and routine maintenance. Buying provides greater ongoing access but requires a larger financial commitment.

For first-time motorhome users, hiring can be a useful way to discover which features matter most before investing in a vehicle.

How Can You Prepare for the Exeter Motorhome Show?

A little preparation can make a motorhome exhibition more useful. Before visiting, write down your budget, preferred berth count and essential facilities.

When inspecting vehicles, ask about:

Overall vehicle height, length and weight.
Sleeping capacity and bed dimensions.
Heating, electrical systems and kitchen equipment.
Warranty details and service history for used vehicles.
Running costs and optional equipment.
Insurance and driving-licence requirements where relevant.

Take notes while comparing different models. This makes it easier to evaluate their practical advantages instead of choosing solely on interior appearance.
