A Tanzania safari is not the kind of trip you rush through. One morning might begin with coffee beside the Serengeti as the sun rises over the plains. A few hours later, you could be watching elephants move through the grass or following fresh tracks left by a pride of lions.

Choosing Tanzania Safari Packages From Australia

A good safari itinerary should be built around your interests rather than simply fitting as many destinations as possible into one trip.

The classic northern Tanzania route can include the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire. Each destination offers something different. The Serengeti is famous for its vast plains and predators, Ngorongoro provides an extraordinary concentration of wildlife within its crater, while Tarangire is known for elephants and its distinctive baobab landscapes.

The Great Migration is one of Tanzania's most famous wildlife spectacles, but it should not be the only reason to visit. The Serengeti supports resident wildlife throughout the year, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and large herbivore populations.

Instead of immediately starting a demanding itinerary, you can arrive rested and ready for early morning game drives.

The Serengeti deserves time. Its enormous scale means that two locations within the same park can offer completely different scenery and wildlife encounters.

A skilled guide does more than drive from one animal sighting to another. Guides observe tracks, alarm calls, weather and animal behaviour to decide where to explore. That local knowledge can be especially valuable when looking for elusive predators.

When comparing Serengeti Safari Packages From Australia, consider itineraries that allow several nights in the region. More time means fewer rushed drives and greater opportunity to experience the Serengeti during different parts of the day.

Private Tanzania Safari Tours From Australia

Private Tanzania safari tours are well suited to travellers who want flexibility. Rather than following a fixed group schedule, a private itinerary can usually be adapted around your interests, photography goals and preferred pace.

For example, if you come across a leopard resting in a tree, you may want to stay quietly for another 30 minutes rather than leave because a group itinerary requires the vehicle to move on. Families can also benefit from having a schedule that accommodates children, while photographers may prefer longer periods at particular sightings.
