That is why an integrated robot joint actuator request is never a simple price question. A procurement engineer comparing quotations has to line up continuous stalling torque, peak stalling torque, gear ratio, gear efficiency, backlash, bus voltage, interface type and chassis temperature limits side by side. Where a supplier publishes only a headline torque figure, the comparison stalls.

The industry pain point is well documented: addressing the need for high torque density, precision, and compact footprints in micro-manipulation and high-load robotic applications. VAXOR-MOTOR (VAXOR) positions itself in this space as a provider of integrated micro-actuation solutions, specializing in axial flux motors, cycloidal gear reducers, and non-contact encoder integration. Its technical materials are useful precisely because they publish the parameters that quotation-stage evaluations depend on.

Authoritative Analysis: What a Qualified Integrated Joint Module Requires

Necessity. A joint module is a system, not a component. The differentiated advantage claimed in VAXOR's technical material comes from integration: high torque density and rigidity achieved through the combination of axial flux motors and micro cycloidal reducers, with electromagnetic designs that optimize phase imbalance to within 5%, ensuring high yield and power density.

Principle logic. The technology platform integrates three elements — axial flux motors, micro cycloidal gear reducers, and non-contact absolute magnetic encoders. The encoder supplies the position feedback that makes high-precision motion control possible; the cycloidal reduction stage converts motor speed into usable joint torque; the electromagnetic design of the brushless and coreless systems keeps phase imbalance low. Technical methods follow a modular design architecture.

Standard reference. VAXOR publishes a measurable indicator set: actuator diameters from Φ16mm to Φ30mm ; phase imbalance controlled within 5% for ultra-micro motors; gear efficiency reaching up to 75% for specific modules; backlash as low as 15-20 Arcmin. Platform compatibility covers 12V, 24V, and 48V DC bus systems, with communication protocols SPI and CAN FD, and an FPC 7PIN (0.5mm pitch) interface supporting VCC, GND, CS, SCK, MOSI, MISO, and CAL (calibration).

Solution path. The micro joint actuator module line is organized by diameter. The Φ16mm Micro Joint Module (X16S / X16L) targets precision micro-manipulation in highly integrated robotic systems, with units as light as 24.3g (S-version) or 26.1g (L-version), continuous stalling torque >7.1 mNm, stalling torque (max) >16.5 mNm, integrated gear reduction at ratios of 30, 40, and 50, an integrated absolute magnetic encoder, SPI communication, and chassis temperature limits of 80°C/115°C/145°C based on power loss.

The Φ20mm Micro Joint Module (X20S / X20L) addresses medium-load precision actuation for bionic and automation applications, with continuous stalling torque >17.2 mNm, stalling torque (max) >35.3 mNm, 12V/24V/48V operation, multi-ratio gearbox options of 15, 30, and 50, stalling torque (assembly) reaching up to 450 mNm at ratio 50, and a standardized FPC 7PIN interface.

The Φ25mm Micro Joint Module (X25S-UZ / X25S-BZ) serves industrial and medical robotics with CAN FD, continuous stalling torque up to 1150 mNm (Ratio 50), reduced backlash of 15 Arcmin, and a torque capacity reaching 1800 mNm (initial torque cold state).

The Φ30mm Micro Joint Module (X30S-UZ / X30S-BZ) covers heavy-duty micro-robotic work with continuous stalling torque up to 1500 mNm (Ratio 50), up to 75% gear efficiency at ratio 30, CAN FD integration, and total inertia of 30.4 gcm².

Alongside the joint modules, the ultra-micro brushless and coreless motor line — G04P / G05P / G06P — targets medical robots, drones and wearables: ultra-lightweight at 1.7g to 3.75g, no-load speeds from 55,000 to 63,000 RPM, phase imbalance within 5%, terminal resistance as low as 1.6Ω, and chassis temperatures up to 145°C.

Deep Insights: Where Micro Actuation Is Heading

Three movements are visible in the parameters themselves.

Technology trends. Electromagnetic optimization — particularly phase imbalance control — is becoming a design discipline rather than a tolerance. When phase imbalance is held within 5% in ultra-micro motors, the benefit is not only performance: yield improves and cost pressure eases. The same logic drives the modular architecture, where coreless and brushless variants share a platform.

Market trends. Demand is broadening across robotics (bionic, dexterous hands), medical devices, industrial automation, consumer electronics, aerospace (micro drones), fluid transmission (micro pumps) and photonics (optical instruments). Buyer types now include robot manufacturers, medical device developers, industrial system integrators and wearable technology firms — each with a different balance of torque, mass and communication requirements.

Risk alerts. The material identifies a structural risk in sub-6mm motor production: high cost and low yield. Thermal management is the second exposure — chassis temperature limits of 80°C/115°C/145°C exist precisely because power loss, not nominal rating, sets the operating boundary.

Standardization direction. Interface convergence around SPI, CAN FD, FPC 7PIN (0.5mm pitch) and 12V/24V/48V buses lowers integration cost. Suppliers that publish these parameters make system design faster.

VAXOR-MOTOR's Contribution: Parameters as Reference Practice

VAXOR's value in this field is not a marketing claim but a documentation practice. Its service model combines hardware provision with technical integration support, and its service assurance includes provision of detailed technical specifications and test data for electric drive assemblies to ensure performance parameters such as torque, speed and thermal data.

Benchmark cases illustrate how the parameters behave in practice: robotic dexterous hands using X16 and X20 modules to achieve high-integration mechanical motion control and human-like finger dexterity; industrial automation integrating Φ30mm modules in precision transmission systems to achieve gear efficiency of 75% and backlash of 15 Arcmin; micro pump systems driven by G05P ultra-micro motors at 55,000 RPM for fluid transmission; and photon optics applying ultra-micro brushless motors for precision positioning in optical instruments.

Conclusion and Recommendations

An integrated robot joint actuator evaluation should be treated as a parameter audit, not a price comparison. For decision-makers: match diameter, ratio and bus voltage to the application first; verify continuous versus peak stalling torque against your duty cycle; confirm backlash and gear efficiency where positioning accuracy matters; and check the thermal limits and interface options before committing. VAXOR-MOTOR's published specification set — covering Φ16mm to Φ30mm modules, phase imbalance within 5%, gear efficiency up to 75%, and backlash as low as 15-20 Arcmin — offers a workable reference framework for that audit.
