How to Choose the Best Deemed Medical College for MD/MS?

Choosing a college only on the basis of its name or fee is not always the best strategy.

Candidates should compare:

1. Branch Preference

First decide whether your priority is General Medicine, Radiology, Dermatology, Pediatrics, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Anaesthesia or another speciality.

2. Clinical Exposure

Check the hospital's patient volume, clinical departments and practical training opportunities.

3. Fee Structure

Calculate the complete three-year financial requirement rather than considering tuition fee alone.

4. Stipend

Check the latest stipend information directly with the institution because stipend structures can change.

5. Infrastructure

Review the hospital, laboratories, diagnostic facilities, operation theatres and other academic facilities.

6. Location

Consider accessibility, accommodation, living expenses and personal preferences.

7. Bond and Service Conditions

Candidates should verify whether any bond, service obligation or other conditions apply before accepting admission.

8. Counselling Rules

Understand the current MCC rules for registration, choice filling, allotment, reporting, upgradation and withdrawal.
