My experience of appearing for the script writing examination was truly memorable.

It all began when I learned that Zee Writer’s Room was searching for talented writers from various cities. At that time, I had no knowledge of script writing. My only related background was in content writing, which I had learned through Skill Waala’s free online courses.

About a month prior to the examination, Skill Waala announced a script writing workshop. One day, I received a call inviting me to participate in the exam. I promptly filled out the form, and by early August, many people had also received calls for the same. The examination date was fixed for 10th August.

Initially, I felt completely unprepared because I had never studied script writing. I contacted Skill Waala for guidance, and the instructor explained everything clearly and even shared a helpful document. I watched the workshop videos four to five times to fully understand the concepts. This learning process was an enriching experience in itself.

As the days passed and only two days remained before the examination, I began feeling nervous. On 9th August, which was also Rakshabandhan, I enjoyed a wonderful day with my family, but in my mind, I continued practicing script ideas.

Finally, 10th August arrived. I reached Ashutosh College and was amazed to see a large number of participants, including people in the age group of 50 to 60. Their presence was inspiring. While filling out the registration form, I recalled my prior experience in blog writing. I also remembered my story writing contributions on the StoryMirror app, including a novel I had written. Adding this experience to my form gave me confidence.

At 1:00 PM, I entered the examination hall. I reflected on how, in 2019, I had come to college as a student, and now I was back creating completely new memories.

When the question paper arrived, I initially felt anxious as it appeared challenging. However, I calmed myself by chanting the Namah Siddhanam mantra, which helped me regain focus. Once composed, I found the paper to be engaging and well-designed.

The paper included several tasks: writing about my favorite OTT/film/TV show and explaining why I liked it, expanding a provided logline,creating 700 word story .

and creating a prequel script similar in concept to Baahubali 2. For my prequel, I chose to reimagine OMG 2 in my own way.

As I began writing, my creativity flowed naturally. By the time I finished, I was satisfied with my work.

After submitting, I reminded myself: my responsibility is to give my best effort, while the outcome is beyond my control. I did not know what destiny had planned for me, but I believed in my own abilities.

This entire journey strengthened my confidence. I learned that nothing is impossible if one is determined. Whenever I feel low in the future, I will remember this moment.

The result is uncertain, as many talented individuals participated in the exam, and only a few will be selected. However, I believe that giving your best and leaving the rest to God is the right approach.

This experience was not just about appearing for an examination. It was about learning new skills, overcoming fear, and creating unforgettable memories.
