My Time DiningPlanning dinner on a cruise should feel relaxing, not like another appointment on your calendar. That is exactly where comes in. Royal Caribbean offers this flexible dining option for guests who prefer to choose when they eat rather than follow a fixed dinner schedule every evening.

Whether you are sailing as a couple, traveling with children, or exploring different onboard activities, understanding how this dining option works can help you make the most of your cruise.

What Is My Time Dining?

My Time Dining is Royal Caribbean's flexible main dining room option. Instead of being assigned an early or late dinner seating, you can generally choose your preferred dining time within the available service hours.

For example, imagine spending an afternoon at the pool and watching a sunset from the ship's deck. If you are not ready for dinner at your usual time, flexible dining lets you plan around your evening rather than rushing back for a fixed seating.

Availability, operating hours, and reservation requirements vary by ship and sailing, so checking your cruise details before departure is worthwhile.

How Does My Time Dining Work On Royal Caribbean?

The process is straightforward, but a little planning can make dinner much smoother.

Guests can typically reserve dining times before sailing through Royal Caribbean's Cruise Planner or use the Royal Caribbean app, where available. Depending on the ship and sailing, walk-ins may also be accepted, although waiting times can vary.

Here is a practical example: if your family plans to attend a 7:00 p.m. theater show, booking dinner earlier can help you avoid feeling rushed. If you prefer a relaxed evening after a shore excursion, you can choose a later available time instead.

Keep in mind that My Time Dining does not guarantee an immediate table whenever you arrive. Popular dinner hours can be busy, particularly on sea days and formal nights. Making reservations in advance is often the smarter choice.

Is My Time Dining Worth It?

For travelers who enjoy flexibility, My Time Dining can be an excellent choice. It works particularly well for couples who prefer spontaneous evenings, families whose schedules change throughout the day, and cruisers who want more control over their dinner plans.

However, guests who enjoy seeing the same tablemates each evening may prefer traditional assigned dining.

The best tip: Reserve your preferred dinner times early, especially if you have a show, excursion, or special occasion planned. A little preparation can help you enjoy both the food and the freedom of cruising.
