IoT gateways sit at the center of connected environments, linking sensors, routers, wireless CPE, and small communication terminals to broader networks. When local power fails, drops in voltage, or momentary interruptions occur, these gateways can reboot unexpectedly. For telecom operators, Internet Service Providers, broadband network companies, and system integrators, an unplanned gateway reboot means more than a brief inconvenience. It can disrupt connected devices downstream, trigger service complaints, increase remote troubleshooting workload, and add unnecessary field maintenance costs.

Shanghai Mylion New Energy Co., Ltd., operating under the brand MYLION, addresses this exact pain point. As a specialized Mini DC UPS and telecom BBU solution provider, MYLION focuses on compact, safe, and project-ready backup power systems built for broadband, fiber, ISP, telecom, and network infrastructure applications, including smart home gateways and IoT network devices.

MYLION's Engineering-Driven Approach to IoT Gateway Backup

MYLION is positioned as an engineering-driven B2B manufacturer and OEM/ODM battery backup solution provider, not a generic UPS seller. Rather than offering a single one-size-fits-all product, MYLION supports project-based model selection according to a gateway's actual device voltage, current draw, startup surge current, backup time target, installation environment, connector type, certification needs, labeling requirements, and mass production feasibility.

This matters for IoT gateway deployments because gateway hardware varies widely in power consumption and connector design. MYLION's team helps customers evaluate real working current, peak current, adapter rating, and safety margin before confirming a model, which helps avoid the common problem of an under-rated backup unit causing the gateway to restart, shut down, or fail during testing.

With more than 13 years of experience in lithium battery packs, Mini UPS, DC backup power, and customized battery solution development, MYLION has evolved from a customized battery pack supplier into a focused B2B backup power solution provider serving telecom, ISP, broadband, security, and industrial applications worldwide, including Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

Product Lineup Matched to IoT Gateway Power Profiles

MYLIONTECH.COM offers several product families that map directly onto different IoT gateway and networking scenarios.

12V Standard Mini DC UPS Series (MU68, MU26, MU48) These compact 12V DC backup power solutions are designed for mainstream networking devices such as routers, ONTs, modems, gateways, CPE devices, and small DC terminals used by ISPs, broadband operators, and system integrators. Each unit includes a built-in lithium battery pack with BMS protection against overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, and short circuit, and is housed in a compact form factor suitable for desktop, wall-mounted, or customer premises installation.

High-Power 12V Telecom BBU Series (MU35, MU65) For advanced gateways, higher-power routers, WiFi gateways, and broadband CPE that draw more current than standard Mini UPS models can support, MYLION offers high-current 12V BBU options. These are designed for 12V high-load applications, with larger battery capacity choices for extended backup time and built-in BMS protection for stable standby operation and automatic backup during power interruption.

Inline FTTH Mini UPS Series (MUJ46) This ultra-compact, cable-style inline backup power solution connects between the original power adapter and the device, offering a space-saving option for ONT, router, modem, and gateway backup in installations where visible bulk is undesirable.

USB-C PD Mini UPS Series (MUC85) As more devices shift from traditional DC barrel input to USB-C Power Delivery architecture, MYLION's USB-C PD series is built to support backup power for next-generation routers, smart gateways, hubs, and terminals that rely on USB-C input rather than conventional DC connectors.

24V / 48V DC Backup Power Series (MU248) Some communication devices, wireless CPE, and small access network terminals require 24V or 48V DC input rather than standard 12V power. MYLION's MU248 line provides backup options for these selected higher-voltage DC equipment types, helping avoid the size and conversion loss associated with traditional AC UPS systems.

LiFePO4 Mini UPS Series (ML1202AC) For customers who prioritize longer cycle life and improved thermal stability, MYLION's LiFePO4-based Mini UPS series supports selected networking, security, and industrial control applications that require stable, long-term standby backup power.

Across this range, MYLION's core features remain consistent: lithium-ion or LiFePO4 battery pack technology, BMS protection against overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, short circuit, and abnormal operating conditions, and optional customization of housing, connectors, cables, capacity, and labeling when technically feasible.

Quality, Compliance, and Global Supply Support

MYLION applies incoming material control, production process inspection, functional testing, aging or charge/discharge verification when required, and 100 percent outgoing inspection before shipment. For international B2B projects, MYLION can support certification and compliance documentation including CE, FCC, RoHS, UN38.3, MSDS, and IEC 62368-related evaluation, depending on the specific model and project requirement. The company also understands lithium battery export requirements and supports UN38.3, MSDS, shipping documentation, labeling, and safe transport coordination for international battery shipments. Certification availability may vary by product model and final configuration, and for customized projects, certification scope should be confirmed according to the final approved version.

OEM/ODM and Project-Based Cooperation

MYLION supports B2B customers from requirement analysis, model selection, sample testing, and technical confirmation through quotation, certification coordination, production, inspection, and shipment. OEM/ODM services include private labeling, customized packaging, connector matching, cable customization, capacity adjustment, and project-specific documentation. This makes MYLION a suitable partner for telecom operators, ISPs, broadband network companies, system integrators, network equipment distributors, and OEM/ODM project customers who want to build a stable Mini UPS, router backup UPS, gateway backup battery, or telecom BBU product line for IoT and networking markets.

Choosing the Right Mini DC UPS for an IoT Gateway Deployment

For teams evaluating backup power for IoT gateways, MYLION recommends confirming device voltage, real working current, startup surge, connector type, backup time target, installation method, certification documents, packing requirements, and forecast quantity before mass production. This project-based confirmation process, combined with MYLION's range of 12V, high-current, inline, USB-C PD, 24V/48V, and LiFePO4 options, allows telecom, ISP, broadband, and OEM/ODM customers to match backup power precisely to their gateway hardware rather than relying on a generic, one-size-fits-all UPS product.
