Chapter - 2

Russy went to the kitchen and started preparing dinner. Bruce was sitting on the sofa and watching TV. Weather was being reported in the news. Due to low pressure, rains were predicted to continue for the next four days. He got upset after hearing the information and changed the TV channel. He suddenly saw on TV that the dead body of a mermaid was being rescued from the sea sand. He was surprised. He seemed to recognize the mermaid. But before he could see her face, the power went out.

He leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes to think. Russy called out from the kitchen. Russy said to light the candle and bring it to the kitchen. He lit the candle and slowly walked towards the kitchen, holding it in his hand. Just as he stepped into the kitchen, he heard someone calling his name from a distance. He turned around and saw the mermaid standing next to the glass wall, injured. He screamed terribly and fainted. Just then the power was restored. The whole room was illuminated by the room lights. Russy came running and saw Bruce lying on the floor in a faint. She splashed water on the face of the Bruce to wake him up. He regained consciousness. She cried and hugged Bruce. She asked, "What happened, in the dark? Why did you scream in fear?" But, Bruce couldn't say anything. He just looked at Russy with tears in his eyes. He gestured for a drink of water. Russy fetched a glass of water from the filter and gave Bruce a drink. He felt relieved after drinking the water.

Russy grabbed Bruce's hand and lifted him off the floor. She took him to the bedroom. She told Bruce to rest on the bed. Then went to the kitchen to get food for Bruce. After some time he reached the bed room with 'fish pie' and 'muffin'. She woke Bruce up. Bruce said he would not eat the food. Russy forced to eat a little. She fed Bruce with her hand. After eating some of the 'Fish Pie', he suddenly felt nauseous and vomited. It felt like eating raw fish. He felt as if he had eaten the flesh of that mermaid's rotten body. His legs and hands began to tremble. It was difficult for him to breathe.

Annoyed, Bruce said, "Russy, you've cooked such a bad meal; I'm getting sick just eating it. This food smells like rotting meat to me. I may not live anymore." Russy cried and said, "Believe me, I have not prepared any bad food. I wonder why you feel like this. Maybe you are under the influence of some evil demon." "No...that can never happen. You are lying to me," he said angrily. While saying this, suddenly his legs, hands and mouth became bent. And saliva began to flow from his mouth. He let out a terrible roar like an animal. Seeing this, Russy ran to the doctor crying in fear.
