NV center diamond anvilsHigh-pressure science sits at the intersection of geoscience, planetary research, and the exploration of new states of matter. Studying materials under extreme compression requires tools that combine mechanical resilience with the ability to perform sensitive, non-invasive measurements inside a confined sample chamber. This is precisely the gap that are designed to fill, and ViQium Technologies Co., Ltd. has built its product portfolio around meeting this specialized demand.

What Are NV Center Diamond Anvils?

An NV (nitrogen-vacancy) center diamond anvil integrates nitrogen-vacancy quantum defects directly into a diamond anvil used in high-pressure cells. Because diamond is already the material of choice for generating extreme pressures, embedding NV centers within the anvil itself allows researchers to conduct in-situ quantum sensing—such as magnetometry—while the sample remains under compression. This eliminates the need for external sensors that cannot survive or operate effectively inside the high-pressure environment.

NV density of 1–2 ppmanvil face sizes of 20 μm, 30 μm, 50 μm, 100 μm, 200 μm, and 300 μmanvil height of 2.35 mm<100> and <111>ViQium's NV Diamond Anvil product line reflects this design philosophy. The company offers anvils with an , available in , with a fixed , and crystal orientations of . This range of face sizes allows researchers to match the anvil geometry to their specific pressure targets and sample chamber requirements, rather than being constrained to a single fixed configuration.

Why High-Pressure Research Demands Advanced Sensing

extreme high-pressure magnetism studies, geoscience and planetary research, and new-state-of-matter explorationAccording to ViQium's positioning, its NV Diamond Anvil is well suited for . These are areas where conventional measurement approaches often struggle to deliver sufficient sensitivity while remaining compatible with the physical constraints of a diamond anvil cell. The core industry pain point—performance limitations in conventional measurement approaches—drives the need for a transition toward high-sensitivity, non-invasive sensing solutions, which is a central theme of ViQium's strategic positioning.

ViQium Technologies: An Integrated Source for NV Diamond Anvil Solutions

ViQium Technologies Co., Ltd., headquartered in Minhang District, Shanghai, China, has established a global service network supporting research and industrial customers from material selection through successful application deployment. The company's founding team draws on academic backgrounds from several leading universities in China and has dedicated more than eight years to research in advanced quantum materials, including NV center quantum diamonds and black phosphorus.

Product Specifications and Technical Parameters

Beyond the NV Diamond Anvil itself, ViQium's broader Quantum Materials Series includes High Purity Diamond, Single NV Diamond, Ensemble NV Diamond, Ultra-High-Density NV Diamond, Shallow NV Diamond, Nano-NV Diamond, and SiV Diamond. This breadth means that researchers working with diamond anvils for high-pressure experiments can also source complementary materials—such as high-purity diamond substrates or shallow NV diamonds—from the same technical team, simplifying procurement and ensuring consistency across an experimental setup.

End-to-End Fabrication Capability

ViQium has independently established a complete production process covering diamond crystal growth, ion irradiation, and high-temperature annealing. This vertically integrated approach supports the company's ability to deliver medium- to high-density NV center diamond products (0.1–10 ppm) as well as ultra-high-density NV center diamond products (10–45 ppm), with key parameters comparable to leading international suppliers' product series. Standard products can be delivered within 28 days, while conventional customized products—including specialized anvil configurations—can be delivered within 45 days.

Addressing Common Challenges in NV Diamond Anvil Selection

Selection Guidance for First-Time Users

Researchers new to NV diamond materials often face difficulty determining the optimal crystal orientation and NV center concentration for their specific experimental requirements, given the absence of clear reference standards. ViQium addresses this through a comprehensive NV Diamond Selection Guide combined with professional online consultation services, categorizing products by application requirements such as magnetic field sensing, magnetic imaging, and temperature sensing. This allows customers to select the appropriate material without purchasing multiple samples for comparison.

Small-Batch Customization

Many suppliers in the high-pressure and quantum sensing space do not support small-volume customized orders, and even those that do often show gaps in key parameters such as NV center concentration, uniformity, and coherence time. ViQium combines flexible small-batch customization—starting from a single piece—with advanced in-house fabrication capabilities, allowing crystal orientation, NV concentration, sample dimensions, and microstructure processing to be tailored to specific requirements, including anvil face size and orientation, at pricing that is significantly lower than imported alternatives.

Integrated ODMR Testing Support

A recurring challenge for laboratories is the lack of integrated ODMR (optically detected magnetic resonance) testing and experimental support, since many suppliers focus solely on diamond material sales. ViQium's technical team combines expertise in diamond material engineering and quantum measurement technologies, offering an integrated service chain covering diamond growth, NV center creation, characterization, and ODMR system integration—including optical alignment, signal acquisition, and magnetic field calibration—so that customers can obtain both NV diamond anvils and testing solutions from a single provider.

Applications Across Scientific and Industrial Domains

The NV Diamond Anvil's design directly supports three demanding research contexts: extreme high-pressure magnetism studies, where researchers investigate how magnetic properties evolve under compression; geoscience and planetary research, where high-pressure conditions simulate deep planetary interiors; and new-state-of-matter exploration, where materials are pushed beyond conventional physical boundaries. In each case, the embedded NV centers enable quantum sensing capabilities that operate at room temperature and provide nanoscale sensing resolution—key advantages highlighted in ViQium's technical principles, since NV centers do not require cryogenic temperatures or complex vacuum systems to function effectively.

Why Research Institutions and Industrial Partners Choose ViQium

For research institutes and universities, the core demand lies in obtaining high-quality, reproducible quantum materials and accessible experimental platforms to support fundamental physics validation. ViQium's team brings expertise spanning quantum physics, materials science, and optical engineering, combining scientific exploration with precision manufacturing experience. The company implements batch-level control and traceability management throughout the entire production and delivery process of NV center quantum diamond materials, ensuring performance stability and consistency across different material batches—an important consideration for researchers who depend on reproducible experimental results.

ViQium also provides tailored technical training covering material characteristics, operating procedures, and key experimental considerations, supported by a collaborative mechanism between its sales and R&D teams that enables direct technical response for critical issues, including rapid response and remote collaboration support for urgent technical challenges.

Conclusion

For researchers and institutions seeking NV Diamond Anvils suited to extreme high-pressure applications, ViQium Technologies Co., Ltd. offers a combination of precise technical specifications—including multiple anvil face sizes, defined NV density, and crystal orientation options—alongside end-to-end fabrication, flexible customization, and integrated ODMR support. Headquartered in Shanghai with a global service network, ViQium positions itself to support the full journey from material selection to successful application deployment in extreme high-pressure magnetism studies, geoscience and planetary research, and the exploration of new states of matter.
