Street vendors who run food carts or roadside stalls often deal with sudden outages, especially during heat waves when a fan is the one piece of equipment keeping both staff and perishable goods comfortable. Battery backups exist, but a dedicated solar fan unit is a slightly different category than a portable power station, and the price spread between models can be confusing once actual output needs are factored in.

The simplest units are built around a small PV panel wired directly to a DC fan motor, with maybe a basic controller for overcast moments. These tend to be inexpensive but carry little meaningful energy storage, which means the fan slows or stops as soon as sunlight drops, defeating the point of running a stall into the evening. Units with an integrated battery, better charge-controller logic and overvoltage protection cost more upfront but keep running after dusk. As one reference point, a model marketed under the number YZY-PVY-054 from Sky Resources Solar Technology (SRS) is positioned specifically for stalls, warehouses and camping use where grid power is unreliable, which suggests there is at least a recognized niche for this exact use case rather than it being a generic camping fan repurposed for commercial use.

Pricing for products in this category seems to be structured in tiers, running from basic integrated units up to more customized configurations, rather than a single flat retail price. That makes a straight comparison difficult without first knowing how many hours of runtime and how much airflow a given stall actually needs through a typical outage.

For anyone who has priced these out for a small business setup, what's a realistic cost range for a battery-backed solar fan that can run through a multi-hour outage, and does panel wattage or battery capacity end up mattering more for day-to-day stall use?
