Rising demand for prescription weight management medicines, increased awareness of obesity-related complications, and broader physician engagement are supporting the use of semaglutide therapy.

The Wegovy market size was valued at US$ 3.03 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach US$ 25.14 billion by 2034, registering a remarkable CAGR of 26.52% during 2026–2034. Market expansion is driven by increasing demand for effective obesity management treatments, rising prevalence of overweight and obesity, and growing awareness of the health risks associated with excess body weight. Increasing demand for GLP-1 receptor agonists is another important growth driver. These medicines help regulate appetite and food intake, supporting weight reduction when used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Wegovy's role in medical weight management has increased awareness of prescription-based obesity treatment and contributed to broader interest in the therapeutic category.

Growing clinical attention to the relationship between obesity and cardiovascular health is also influencing demand. Patients and healthcare professionals are increasingly considering the broader health implications of weight management. In addition, expanding access to specialist care, digital health services, and weight-management programs is helping more patients explore medical treatment options.
